              * Astragalus  sempervirens Lam., Encycl. Méth. Bot. 1: 320 (1783) subsp.  gussonei
                Pignatti in Giorn. Bot. Ital. 107: 216 (1973) [A. aristatus L’Hér. (1791)]
                Reported by Jan (quoted by Gussone 1844) without the reference to the locality, but not collect-
                ed anymore. Doubtful Lojacono (1891: 120). The report is probably due to a misidentification
                by Nicotra (1878) for the Messinan area. Absent from Sicily according to Brullo (1989).
              * Astragalus thermensis Vals. in Webbia 49 (1): 32 (1994) [Astragalus tragacantha auct.
                non L., Sp. Pl.: 762 (1753); A. massiliensis (Mill.) Lam.]
                A. thermensis was first collected in Sardinia by Schweninfurt in 1884 and identified as A. traga-
                cantha, species found in France and in the Iberian Peninsula (Valsecchi, loc. cit.). – Sands on the
                coastland– Alien casual reported by Gasparrini at the Ronciglio “ubi inter navium suburram
                semina recenter exportata videntur” (Gussone 1844: 316); Levanzo (Tineo) (Lojacono 1891);
                Trapani Talamone  (Nicotra PAL), Ronciglio (Parlatore FI) (Valsecchi 1994). Adventice not
                taken into consideration by authors succeded to Fiori (1925: 893), who [the authors] considered
                the record as the fruit of a misidentification (v. Brullo 1989);?D: Linosa (Lojacono 1885: sub A.
                creticus Guss. = A. siculus Raf.), not confirmed locality and doubtful identification by Lojacono.
                To be excluded from Sicilian flora.
