The electrophoretic run ofthe enzymatic digestion products by Taql evidenced easily
scorable fragments 228 and 174 bp long in P. ulyssiponensis s.I., 431 bp long in P.
caerulea, 358 bp long in P. vulgata, and 422 bp long in P. candei (Figure 4a). Tbe
occurrence of such species-specific fragments in P. ulyssiponensis s.l. allowed to attribute
to this species 33 out of 65 individuals analysed by RFLPs, consistently with COI
sequencing analysis.
