Dry meadows, uncultivated sandy ground. – ?D: Favignana (Di Martino & Trapani 1967), not
confirmed and therefore further survays are needed. Another locality is reported by Giardina
(1995: sub O. pubescens) for M. Po di Catania, a small population of one hundred of individu-
als used to expand ten times in about three years (Giardina 2000); in 2002 further survays have
shown that the population is diminuishing! Found also in the sandy areas of the sites. In danger
of extinction. – RR.
