Float gifts and charming in its sea of indescribable colors, stunning in its beauty, Favignana: precious and rare example of an
untouched nature. Now the first looks out onto the enchanted landscape: white sandy beaches and rugged coastline at the
same time, caves, and green, so unexpected in the middle of the green sea and kaleidoscopic.
Known as the “Butterfly” due to its shape, is the largest and most populated of them all,. Called “Aegusa“ by the Greeks
actually its name comes from the local predominant wind “Favonio” which makes climate mild and fresh.
It is difficult to imagine that its water had been mixed with the blood of so many naval battles one of which the most
deciding one fought on 241 AC where the roman fleet, under console Lutazio Catulo, broke the power of Carthage and
finally annexed it as a province of Rome.
