2. MATERIALS AND METHODS
Sampling was carried on during two oceanographic cruises of the research vessel
“Bannock”.
Samples were collected by a Van Veen grab (12 l) and sieved throughout a 2 mm
mesh net. Living molluscs were sorted, fixed in buffered formaldehyde (10% in
seawater) and then preserved in ethanol (75%). Tanatocoenoses were not taken into
account for this study.
