                Perhaps a  F. bastardii with intermediate characteristics between  F. capreolata (Nicotra
                1913) and F. muralis Sonder ex W. D. J. Koch according to Pignatti (1982). In every case
                its taxonomic value is uncertain, to be investigated. – Gardens, vineyards, uncultivated
                land. – Naro, Capo d’Orlando, Alcamo, Balestrate, Ficuzza (Lojacono 1889); Vallelunga,
                Trapani (Nicotra 1893 a); Capo Mulini (Nicotra 1913); Siracusa al Teatro Greco (Zodda

                Often misidentifed with F. muralis Gren. & Godr. = F. bastardii, but probably absent from Sicily
                (Pignatti 1982), it is however accepted by Fl. Europ. 1: 309 (1993).

                Binomial used by Nicotra (passim) but confused by auct. pl. con F. muralis Sonder ex W. D.
                J. Koch. This entity, according to Nicotra (1913) remains rare in Sicily. Gardens, vineyards,

                Felicuri (Gussone 1844: sub F. petteri a. major); Pantelleria (Gussone 1844: sub F. petteri b.
                palmata + c. cossyrensis); Acitrezza (Nicotra 1893 a); Messina, Taormina (Seguenza), Ortora
                (Borzì), Meri (Zodda), Palermo alla Favorita (Todaro), Linosa (Aiuti) (Nicotra 1913); Capo
                Mulini (Nicotra 1913: sub ?F. serotina); Pantelleria: comune (Sommier 1922). To be recon-

                Intermediate between  F. capreolata and  F. flabellata, going towards  F. sepium Boiss. = ?F.
                bastardii. – Grazing lands in high mountains up to 1200 m on.s.l. – Ficuzza alla base della
                Busambra, Valdemone a Mirto (Citarda), S. Basile (Citarda e Riccobono) (Lojacono 1889). To
                be investigated. – R.

                Gardens, vineyards, uncultivated land. – Locally common at Pantelleria and Linosa, but absent
                from Sicily s.s.!; Pantelleria: comune (Sommier 1922); Pantelleria: coltivi e non coltivati, anche
                a M. Gelfizer, Khaggiar, M. Gelkhamar (Di Martino 1963). – R.
              509. Fumaria bastardii Boreau in Duch., Rev. Bot. 2: 359 (1847) [F. gussonei Boiss.; F.

                Desv.; F. muralis Gren. & Godr. non Sonder ex W. D. J. Koch; F. confusa Jord.]
                According to Nicotra (1913) F. gussonii is nothing else than F. muralis G. & G. tending towards
                F. agraria. Still according to Nicotra’s opinion (loc. cit.: 82) the different F. boraei, bastardii,
                platycarpa, affinis, apiculata, pia are forms of F. muralis Gren. & Godr. It is again distinguished
                by Nicotra (loc. cit.) sub F. muralis Gren. & Godr. In several varieties laxa, glaucescens, pia,
                minor taxonomically doubtful. – Gardens, vineyards, uncultivated land. – Everywhere in the
