               According to Greuter (1981) this taxon should be treated as a subspecies, since the typical pop-
               ulation of P. cambricum is a sterile variation of uncertain taxonomic status. The majority of pteri-
               dologists disagree on this approach. – Woods, walls. – Everywhere on cool rocks on the coast and
               in woods. – CC.

            15. Polypodium interjectum Shivas in J. Linn. Soc., Bot. 58: 28 (1961)
               Cliffs, shady walls. – Reported for the Madonie Mountains by Nardi & Tommei (1976). Its dis-
               tribution is still  not well known according to Soster (2001). Ascertain localities: Madonie near
               Castelbuono (Raimondo & al. 2004). Also found by us near Mount Sambughetti (Nicosia)! – R.

               Cliffs, shady walls.– According to Marchetti (2004) it may occur at high altitude and in cool
               places.

               riori dettagli in Nardi & al. 1979); Sicilia nord-orientale da Messina a Catania, Eolie, Pantelleria
               (Raimondo & al. 1994). All localities lie within the Etna and Pantelleria areas. – R.

               corsica Reichstein & Vida]
               Known since XIX century but its taxonomic status has been clarified only recently by Reichstein
               & Vida (1973) and Nardi (1978). It occurs in that part of the Mediterranean known as Archaic
               Paleo-Mediterranean Sea. Scattered. – Shady cliffs. – Acireale, S. Tecla, Bongiardo, Acicatena
               (Sozzi) (Nicotra 1891: sub C. hispanica sensu Nicotra non Mettenius = C. tinaei Tod.); V.ne Ulli,
               S. Alfio (Nicotra 1893 a: sub  C. hispanica); Messina, Milazzo, Mili, S. Margherita (Borzì),
               Giampilieri (Seguenza), Scaletta (Gussone), M. Scuderi (Nicotra 1893 b: sub C. fragrans + C.
               tinaei); ?D: Mandanici (Borzì),  Artolia,  Tremestieri di Messina, Saponara, Etna al Milo
               (Nicotra), Francavilla + Taormina (Zodda) (Nicotra & Campagna 1908: sub C. fragrans), da
               verificare la corrispondenza con C. tinaei; Messina, Catania Chiuse, Alicuri, Filicuri (Lojacono
               1909); Monreale, Messina, Francavilla, Catania, Alicudi, Eolie a Salina (Nardi 1979); Etna: Lave
               presso Misterbianco (Di Benedetto 1983); Alcantara, Salina, Arenella, Francavilla (Raimondo &
