Proposal APERTURES. PART B Priority6.1.3.1.1.2 - FP6-2005-TREN-4 p 46 of 49
Workpackage number 5B Start /close date / starting event: 23 to 35 (12 months)
Workpackage Title Real-Scale Plug-Play Green Grid System Implantation & Tests ON MARIBOR SITE
Participant identity TCPE MARI CIRT SASS TOTAL
Person-months 22 10 2 2 36
Objectives:
Reminder: The WP1 stated that theMaribor site RES assessment had somehow been done in the past; This work package
will start with an new assessment as conducted in WP1 for Favignana Islanded site.
The experience gained with WP1 will be transferred to the Maribor site and the updated evaluation tools too.
A specific global report equivalent to the WP1 deliverables will be produced.
Starting from the objectives of WP1, WP2, WP3, WP4, the main objective of the workpackage is verification of the proposed
RES generation system inside the electrical grid of Maribor. This verification will be done at two levels:
3. Experimental photovoltaic plant will be connected to the electrical grid of Maribor. In the PVP the correct behaviour
of the MSC will be tested in terms of generated power, optimal exploitment of the RES in input, power quality and
EMC issues.
4. Measurements of electrical energy quality will be done in terms of higher harmonics, EMC, flicker etc.
Compatibility of the PVP with new MSC device will be tested and different steps will be done for improvement. The
electrical grid of Maribor, with the different MSC connected in the MV grid with automatic reconnection ability,
will be tested at a system level in terms of optimal dispatching of electric energy and the variation of load,
management of energy flows inside the grid in normal and faulty conditions. With this regard the goodness of the
telecontrol system which coordinates the behaviour of the system will be verified.
Description of work :
The work will be organized following the two objectives above.
th
th
TASK 5.1 / From 24 to 28 month various MSCs will be installed in photovoltaic plant in Maribor and connected with
electrical grid in output and the photovoltaic plant in input. At the same time the supervisory control system and its
telecontrol will be installed and tested.
th th
TASK 5.2 From the 29 to the 32 month the grid will be tested during normal working conditions, verifying :
· for the MSC the generated power, the optimal exploitation of the RES in input, and power quality and EMC issues
· for the electrical grid, the optimal dispatch of electric energy according to the variation of load and the management
of energy flows.
rd
th
Task 5.3 :From 33 to 36 month, the grid will be tested in critical working conditions, like high nonlinear loads producing
high levels of harmonics, highly reactive loads and faulty conditions. As a last point, the production of energy will be
measured and verified. The reduction of CO 2 will be calculated.
