According to Gussone (1843) S. ennaea Jan is a synonym of S. vermiculata b. glabra Guss. The
treatment at the rank of species was preferred by Italian botanists in the second half of XX
Century. At this rank the taxon had a bynomial combination by Jan (1827). Priority of Jan (1827)
vs. Guss. (1843). Distribution in Sicily and Sardinia. The problem of possible inclusion of S.
ennaea into S. vermiculata is still unsolved. – E – Subsalse clayey. – Enna (Gussone 1827: add.
