                ?D: Juniperus communis subsp. communis is recorded by Lojacono (1904: 403) from the Etna.
                Nowadays it is considered absent in Sicily according to Jalas & Suominen (1972-96, 2: map
                182). According to Fl. Europ. 1: 47 (1993) it occurs “almost throughout the range of the species”.
                To be verified.
